Capital Clean Energy Carriers: Stable LNG Cash Flows With A Rerating Catalyst

Summary Capital Clean Energy Carriers has fully transitioned to a gas-focused shipping platform, supported by ~$2.9 billion in contracted LNG revenues averaging 6.9 years. Capital Clean Energy trades at ~10x earnings, reflecting stable but capital-intensive fundamentals; current dividend yield is 3% with a low payout ratio. A new joint venture structure enables asset monetization and capital recycling, offering potential for a less capital-intensive, higher-return business model. I rate Capital Clean Energy a cautious buy, as the downside is protected by contracts while JV scaling could drive multiple expansions and reratings. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Capital Clean Energy Carriers: Aspiring Plans And Questionable Timing; Rating Unchanged

Summary Capital Clean Energy Carriers, formerly CPLP, aims to become a significant LNG shipowner. In 2Q24, the company also announced that it ordered LPG carriers: six MGCs and four LCO2 carriers. The company's low-single digit fleet age and latest-generation propulsion give it an advantage. CCEC reported $88,425/day TCE and $15,800/day OPEX. The present balance between tonne mine demand and fleet growth rate is delicate. A short-lived recession can cause day rates to decline, resulting in challenging times for CCEC. Compared to CLCO, CCEC's valuation is high, and I prefer companies with lower risks and better dividend yields. So, CCEC gets again a Hold rating. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Capital Clean Energy Carriers: Transformative Move, Yet More Clarity Needed
