Diageo Shakes Up Executive Team With Leadership Overhaul Following US Sales Weakness Diageo is parting ways with several senior leaders, including the North America chief marketing and innovation officer, the Africa president and the chief human resources officer.
The leadership changes are part of a broader overhaul led by new CEO Dave Lewis.
The restructuring follows a period of declining sales, with weak performance in the United States cited as a key pressure point.
The scale of the executive turnover signals that the new CEO is willing to rework the leadership structure to address current sales pressures, especially in the important US market.
You should watch how quickly Diageo outlines concrete operational or portfolio changes following this overhaul, since those details will shape both execution risk and any potential shift in the company’s regional or product focus. Announcement • Mar 23
Rumple Minze Launches Rumple Minze Cinnamint Whiskey Rumple Minze, the cult-favorite peppermint schnapps known for its unmistakable chill and 100-proof intensity, expanded its portfolio for the first time in years with the debut of Rumple Minze Cinnamint Whiskey — a fusion of fiery cinnamon and signature icy mint designed to disrupt the shot choices that have long gone unchallenged. Rumple Minze Cinnamint Whiskey builds on that reputation and bottles the magic of a popular bar call— the 'fire and ice' shot — into a single, unapologetically bracing pour. This latest expression sharpens the brand's identity while growing its range. With Cinnamint Whiskey, a new duality comes into focus — familiar warmth meets bracing cool; nostalgia meets something entirely new. Blazing cinnamon leads, an icy mint chill follows, and a caramel-rounded whiskey core ties it together, delivering layered heat balanced by a cooling snap. Rumple Minze Cinnamint Whiskey will roll out nationally beginning March 2026 in 750mL at a suggested retail price of $19.99, along with 375mL, 50mL and 1L formats. The launch marks the next step as the brand asserts its place in the moments that define the night. Announcement • Mar 10
Oban Distillery Introduces Oban Aged 15 Years Port Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky Oban Distillery introduced Oban Aged 15 Years Port Cask Finish, a distinguished Single Malt Scotch Whisky that embraces the coastal character of the harbor town of Oban with red fruit notes derived from Portuguese port casks for an intricate, dry finish. Following the remarkable reception of Oban 15 Cask Strength Sherry Cask Finish, this marks the second release for the brand's exclusive 15-Year-Old cask-finished series, continuing an exploration of how fortified wine casks can complement and elevate Oban's signature character. Oban 15 Port Cask Finish was inspired by the shared coastal heritage of its namesake town and Porto, Portugal, where centuries of seafaring trade shaped both ports and their spirits. Long ago, the sea carved Oban's "Little Bay of Caves," and brave ships brought stone and slate to build the distillery and its harbor town, later carrying Oban Whisky to the world. Across the Atlantic, Porto emerged as the historic home of Port wine, a fortified wine prized for its rich red fruit depth and long ocean journeys. That spirit of port-to-port exchange makes it a natural complement to Oban's robust coastal character. As the second release in Oban's 15-Year cask-finished series, this expression builds on the shared lineage of Scotch and fortified wines, including Sherry from Spain and Port from Portugal, each shaped by tradition, place, and craft. The bottle artwork for this expression draws on that connection, depicting Oban from the south of the bay with McCaig's Tower and the distillery in view, as seagulls fly homeward, symbolizing the journey across the seas. Tucked away in the Western Highlands of Scotland, Oban Distillery and its seven artisans ensure its small-still tradition is present in every expression, preserving a whisky style that reflects both its environment and its refined craftmanship. Oban 15 Port Cask Finish spent its maturation journey in American Oak Hogsheads before being finished in carefully selected, 100% American Oak Port casks. On the nose, it opens with fruity dry white wine, hints of raspberries and vanilla ice cream, alongside Oban's signature maritime notes of sea breeze and warm sand, while the palate reveals a soft, creamy-smooth texture with honeyed sweetness and juicy red fruit, developing into gentle salinity and peppery spice and leading to a short to medium, dry finish with lingering white pepper. This limited-edition bottle is an exclusive release available for a limited time at select spirits retailers nationwide, with a suggested retail price of $130 bottled at 750mL. Visit malts.com to find stores where Oban 15 Port Cask Finish is available near you, or order a bottle for shipping or delivery via ReserveBar and TheBar.com. Please Drink Responsibly. OBAN 15 YEAR OLD PORT CASK FINISH SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY. 52.1% ALC/VOL. Imported by Diageo, New York, NY. Announcement • Feb 26
Diageo Closes Amherstburg Crown Royal Plant Early Without Warning Diageo has closed its Crown Royal whisky plant in Amherstburg, Ontario two days ahead of schedule, without advance warning to workers. Six months ago, Diageo announced plans to close the Amherstburg plant and eliminate the jobs of more than 200 Unifor Local 200 members. Despite the efforts of the union and offers from the Ontario government, the company refused to reverse its decision to shift production to the U.S., with the final day of work scheduled for February 27, 2026. The members were notified during their shift that today would be their final day on site. While the workers will be compensated for the two unworked days, the abrupt removal is an unacceptable way to end their service. New minor risk - Dividend sustainability The dividend is not well covered by earnings. Payout ratio: 98% Dividend yield: 4.1% This is considered a minor risk. Companies that pay out too much of their earnings are at risk of having to reduce or cut their dividend in future. If earnings growth slows or earnings fall, then there may not be enough earnings to maintain the same dividend. Or in extreme cases, companies may opt to dig into capital reserves or take on debt to maintain the dividend. However, this risk is mitigated by the fact the dividend is covered by cash flows. For dividend paying companies, any reduction in the dividend can significantly impact the share price. Currently, the following risks have been identified for the company: Major Risk Debt is not well covered by operating cash flow (18% operating cash flow to total debt). Diageo Reportedly Weighs Guinness Sale as Company Reviews Drinks Business Diageo plc (LSE:DGE) is considering whether to sell off Guinness Limited as it plots a review of its overall drinks business. The company, which was formed by the merger of Guinness with Grand Metropolitan in 1997, is studying a potential sale or spin off of the historic stout, which would likely be valued at about $10 billion (EUR 9.5 billion), according to people familiar with the matter. The company could run a dual-track process, weighing a listing while also gauging takeover interest, if it decides to proceed, the people said. Diageo's company s share price has fallen 27% since Debra Crew took over as chief executive a year and half ago, and the group's sales have dropped on cooling demand in China and the United States. As well as that, the owner of Guinness and Johnnie Walker surprised investors with a profit warning just months into her tenure after getting caught out by piles of unsold inventory in Mexico and Brazil. Sean Diddy Combs As well as possibly offloading Guinness, Diageo is already looking to sell Ciroc vodka, a brand once backed by music mogul Sean Diddy Combs, and could look to dispose of other subscale or underperforming labels. Diageo's 34% in Moet Hennessy is also under review, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing private deliberations. Diageo could look to deepen its ownership in the venture, or exit altogether. If it wanted to sell the stake, LVMH has an obligation to buy it, albeit at a 20% discount to its fair value, according to their agreement. The division has been suffering from poor demand for two years. Should Diageo seek to take full ownership of the joint venture, it would likely require a rights offer or the sale of its beer business, said Trevor Stirling, an analyst at Bernstein. Former chief executive Ivan Menezes had always maintained that if Moet Hennessy became available, Diageo would be interested in buying it, he added. They have never acknowledged that they would be willing to sell beer in fact they have always denied it, Mr. Stirling said. But I think in this case it s something they might be willing to do. No final decisions have been made, and there's no certainty the deliberations will lead to any deals. Diageo declined to comment on its plans, as did LVMH. Announcement • Oct 24
